Each painting begins with the quiet ritual of growing, selecting seed varieties for their form, texture, and heritage. I grow my own flowers, drawn to those with character: soft, irregular, and often fleeting. My practice sits between tradition and the present, inspired by the history of botanical painting but shaped by a modern, more intuitive eye.
Working from life, I focus on the subtle shifts in petals and leaves, the way colour fades, edges curl, and beauty lingers in imperfection. Through this process, I hope to create work that feels calm, intimate, and quietly observant.
